As Christians, we believe that all humans fall short of the glory of God and therefore have sinned. We believe that the punishment for all sin is death. However, we rejoice in the Lord Jesus Christ who came down from heaven to take our place on the cross, freeing us from damnation and taking our punishment upon Himself. It is through our faith in Christ alone, that we are given the gift of eternal life in heaven.
As Christ followers, we believe in the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit) to set us free from our sins. This freedom comes with confession by our tongues and hearts that Jesus is Lord and the belief that Jesus died for our sins, rose from the grave, and will come again.
As Christians, we believe in the entirety of the Holy Bible and believe that it is the perfect Word of God. This includes the Old and New Testament. We believe the Bible is flawless and confesses the historical faith of the Gospel. We look to the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit for supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We believe that it is our blessing, and most importantly, God's commandment to proclaim the good works and good news in our lives. As Christians we are called to lead one another to life, love, and truth to the glory of God.

A Bible Study to Become a Disciple of Christ
At Living Word, our vision is to build disciples of the Lord Jesus based on the great commission in Matthew 28:18-20,"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
"The word disciple literally means “student”, therefore we consider that the in-depth study of the Bible, is a MUST for whoever aspires to become a disciple of the Lord Jesus.
Practically, we have been doing the expository study of the entire Bible, verse by verse aiming at revealing the single story that connects all the 66 books of the Bible: the story of a loving and just God offering salvation to a rebellious mankind through the sole sacrifice of the Lord Jesus.

A Practical Bible Study
Matthew 28:20 says that disciples must be taught to obey the teachings of our Lord Jesus. Such obedience will show through the testimony of a transformed life as stated in Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."
Biblical knowledge without life applications being irrelevant, our Bible studies are characterized by a high premium on the life application of the Biblical truth. We answer questions such as:
-
What does the verse of Ephesians 5:22 ("Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.") mean for Christian wives in 21st century?
-
How not to keep on sinning as per 1 John 3:9 ("No one who is born of God will continue to sin….") when we know that it is impossible for a human being to be without sin?
-
How to apply the Biblical instruction of Submission to Governing Authorities (Romans 13:1) when authorities are standing against Biblical principles?

A Quest of Truth for All Christians
As a non-denomination church, we consider the Holy Bible as the ultimate standard for the truth. With that respect, we believe in the absolute truthfulness, authority, inerrancy, clarity, necessity, and sufficiency of the Bible.
As such, our Bible Study sessions are great opportunities for the participants to discern the sound doctrine from false teachings.
The format is not a lecture but rather a group discussion around structured teaching points led by an elder.
We encourage all our students to be inquisitive, following the examples of the Bereans in Acts 17:11, “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
